Our region was hit hard by flooding and storm damage from Hurricane Isaias on top of the ongoing public health crisis. I spent time last week meeting with families impacted by the storm in Eastwick, Upper Darby, and Colwyn, and my heart goes out to everyone in our district impacted by this storm.

Joined my colleagues in fighting for more funding for USPS
It is astonishing that we have to fight against an administration actively working to undercut the US Postal Service in the middle of a global pandemic. I was proud to join my colleagues Congressmen Boyle and Evans, City Commissioners Lisa Deeley and Omar Sabir, and representatives of the letter carriers in support of the Heroes Act as we continue fighting for more funding for the USPS.

Joined Over 80 Members of Congress in Oversight Effort to Protect the Postal Service
I joined over 80 Members of Congress in a letter to Postmaster General DeJoy expressing our concerns about operational changes at the USPS that could have negative impacts on service standards and cause significant delays in mail delivery

Hosted a roundtable to discuss the impact COVID-19 has had on housing security for families in our region.
Rising housing costs over the past decade have strained family budgets, making many chronically cost burdened by their rent, mortgage, or other housing costs. Right here in PA-5, there are over 24,000 households who spend more than 50% of their income on housing costs. As a result of this affordability crisis, too many people have little-to-no savings, and are only one unexpected expense away from insolvency.
This global health crisis and the competing financial crisis has illuminated the many inequities that exist in our country, especially when it comes to housing, health, and economic security.

Joined the Delco Black Caucus in calling for an investigation into the actions of violent counter-protesters and the response of the Ridley Township Police Department
Inciting violence and wielding hate as a form of intimidation has no place in our community. What we witnessed in Ridley should be a reminder to all of us just how far we have to go in terms of delivering justice and ensuring safety and equality for Black Americans.
