Securing Health Insurance Coverage During the Open Enrollment Period
As we continue to grapple with this public health crisis, it has never been more clear that access to healthcare is crucial to ensuring our health and safety.
I wanted to reach out to make sure you had all the resources you need to secure health insurance coverage during the open enrollment period.
There are several ways to obtain coverage:
Between now and December 15, you can visit healthcare.gov to review your options, make changes to your current plan, or sign up for a new plan on the healthcare marketplace. Coverage begins on January 1, 2021.
For PA residents, you can also choose to enroll through Pennie, the state health insurance network, between now and January 15. Visit pennie.com to easily compare health insurance options, and then shop for the plan that is best for you.
Our office is here to help.
Our office can act as a liaison between constituents and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) to assist with issues related to Medicare part A, B, C, and D. We can inquire about Issues related to a beneficiary having problems with Original Medicare (fee-for-service) including, claims payment, coordination of benefits, and also Medicare as a secondary payer. If constituents are Issues related to a beneficiary having problems with a Medicare Advantage plan or Medicare prescription drug plan our office can also inquire about resolving those issues. We are able to assist with enrollment and eligibility, however, that is handled by the Social Security Administration.
For individuals who are serviced through the Marketplace Health Insurance, initial contact should first be directed to the Marketplace Call Center at 800–318–2596 to verify enrollment. If issues persist, our office can send an inquiry to follow up as well.
