For many, these past few months have been filled with uncertainty and economic hardship. During these difficult times, I want you to know our office is just a phone call away to assist you.

While my team and I have been working around the clock to secure resources, send updates, and work on important pieces of legislation, our office remains committed to doing what we can to resolve any challenges that arise for our constituents, especially those concerning federal agencies.

I want to share with you a few ways our office has helped constituents:

Theresa* is a single mother who is raising eleven children during the COVID-19 pandemic. She came to us because she had not yet received her tax refund for 2019. Our office contacted the Internal Revenue Service, who sent her a tax refund of $2,700 so she could continue to support her family.

Susan* contacted our office after she lost her job and was unable to continue supporting her mother who was living in a nursing home. After discovering that Susan’s father was a veteran of World War II, our office helped Susan’s mother apply for spousal benefits from Veteran’s Affairs. Susan’s mother received $5,000 to pay back rent for the nursing home, and she now receives $2,134 as a monthly pension.

Taylor* is a mental health therapist who started and owns her own practice in Delaware County. After visiting family in India before the COVID-19 pandemic, she was stopped by immigration officials on her journey back to the United States despite being an American citizen. We contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and soon Taylor was able to return home to continue to run her own business.
